Legendary Nigerian reggae artiste born Ukeleke Elemelu Onwobya aka Ras Kimono has been reported dead.
Reports indicate that the 60-year-old reggae artiste died in the early hours of Sunday, June 10, 2018, after a small illness.
The “Under Pressure” crooner had to cancel a flight to the United States Of America after complaining of not feeling well and was rushed to the hospital where he gave up on life.
Ras Kimono in an interview with the Punch few days before his sudden demise revealed that he has been a vegetarian 37 years and not all people seen with dreadlocks are into immoral life. He added that he has never smoked before.
Read what he said: “I have never smoke and I don’t drink alcohol. I tell people I have been a vegetarian for 37 years.
And even when my friends my friends were having sex with two girls at the same time in those days, I didn’t join them. I have never done what these boys and girls call threesome despite being famous and I am sure there are other people who have never done that too”.
He, therefore, advised the youth not allow the pleasures of the youthful stage to take over their life forcing them to immoralities.
“When people attribute recklessness to youthful exuberance, I get worried because I once passed through that stage too. The fact that you are young doesn’t mean you should be wayward,
“I challenge all-stars to make their life ‘a living mirror’ reflecting something good to those behind,” he said
Uncle Ras may your gentle soul rest in perfect peace!
