In Ghana, it’s not easy to go against the conventional wisdom in town. The weight of condemnation that would be rained on your neck takes a very strong personality to withstand that and stick to your guns.
Rex Omar recently said that he believes that Ghana would eventually legalize homos£xuality. He also said that gays must be protected as they are also human beings.
Well as usual his country people descended on his neck for this opinion which is against the mainstream and Omar has now been forced to come back and amend all he’s saying.
Omar, obviously to appease Ghanaians and stop being bashed, says he believes homos£xuality is disgusting and he does not support it in anyway.
“I do not support homos£xuality because it is disgusting. We cannot bow under pressure to accept homos£xuality because that is not our culture. However, we should always be careful to protect such individuals because there are some people who choose to be homos£xuals,” he said.
“I am not in support of it but I am speaking based on what I have seen and witnessed. I only said maybe Ghana will legalize it. Maybe can be 100 years or 200 years,”
