A series of police swoops in Accra West led to the arrest and detainment of 30 Nigerian nationals living in Ghana, all of whom were found with numerous drugs and pills in their possession.
All were arrested by police upon intelligence tip-offs as part of a new operation aimed at fighting the drug menace.
The suspects ranged in ages from 18-34 and surprisingly were almost exclusively made up of Nigerian nationals.
The Amasaman Divisional Police Command revealed the raids took place Monday, May 28th, at three separate locations including Amanfrom-Pokuase and parts of Amasaman.
In recent weeks the drug menace has gained more prominence in the country as it claims the lives of more youth, leading to the police attempting to be more proactive in dealing with the situation.
