I Think I Am More Popular Than Patapaa – Article Wan

Article Wan, a Ghanaian dancehall artist best known for his hit song “Solo” which he released in 2016 has boldly come out to say he is more popular than the man of the moment, Patapaa Amisty. Even though both are legitimate one-hit wonders, for now, Patapaa has managed to catch the attention of Ghanaians with not just his music but also his ridiculous fashion sense and hilarious personality. “One corner” has undoubtedly gained more attention that Article Wan’s “Solo” and won the Patapaa some awards even though he missed out the enviable Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Most Popular Song Of The Year.
Mention Patapaa and “One Corner” today and it is very likely whoever you’re talking to has heard of him. Article Wan, on the other hand, you might have to spend some time on Google to know who he is. Patapaa’s spectacular suit that he wore to the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards this year can be said to be way more popular than Article Wan and his song. The suit, which the Pa2Pa leader has named “Coat Vien” for whatever reason, is turning out to be more popular than anything his “uncle” Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has ever worn, and that is saying a whole lot since General Mosquito is fond of wearing the most controversial clothes. This guy doesn’t mind “borrowing” his wife’s winter coat for Christ’s sake.
But still, his “nephew” Patapaa’s blue suit and the oversized costume he wore to the DJ Awards are totally outshining the master. But because a musician’s ego will never allow him to admit that there is someone out there who is more popular, Article Wan is claiming people know him more than the great Patapaa Amisty.
He made this claim on Xylofon FM on Thursday when Sammy Flex asked him who he believed was more popular between him and the Agona Swedru superstar.  “I think I am more popular”, he answered. Article Wan in an attempt to ride on Patapaa’s fame has featured him on a track titled “One Thing”. Both of them did their thing on it and it is likely to infiltrate the pubs and clubs all over the country.
