One of the most controversial rappers of our time, Kanye West is at his controversial best while offending black people in America and the world over by first declaring his support for another controversial douchebag, Donald Trump and going ahead to say our ancestors chose to be enslaved. After going on a twitter rant and accusing the world of restricting people’s freedom to think as they like, the rapper went on TMZ to accuse black people of choosing slavery.
Kim Kardashian’s husband appeared on TMZ Live with Candace Owens to explain how free thought can make the world a better place. It was during that conversation that Kanye blurted out that “When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice.” and the whole world gasped. People are reacting on twitter with the hashtag #IfSlaveryWasAChoice and no one seems to agree with his sentiments but this is Kanye West and he doesn’t give a hoot.
And this is exactly the point he has been trying to make about free thought. He should be free to think whatever he wants even if the rest of the world thinks otherwise. People close to him say he has talked about slavery before as a metaphor, only this time he didn’t artistically present his opinion, leading to the backlash. Going ahead to buttress his point, he tweeted, “the reason why I brought up the 400 years point is because we can’t be mentally imprisoned for another 400 years. We need free thought now. Even the statement was an example of free thought … It was just an idea.”
Sources close to him say the reason for his outbursts is because he has gone off the medication he was put on by doctors after going through a liposuction. According to him, the doctors prescribed three pills a day but it was seriously messing with his mind so he decided to reduce it to one or two a week. Obviously, this is not helping much either as he’s getting more erratic by the day, especially with his tweets. So maybe he should just go back to taking the dose the doctor prescribed? For all our sakes.
