Former President John Dramani Mahama has received immense praise from the family of highlife great Jewel Ackah for being one of the few who contributed towards his welfare when he was still alive.
Sister of the late singer, Auntie Mama, has candidly revealed that the former President used to pay a stipend of Ghc 2,000 monthly to Ackah which helped immensely at a time his sicknesses continued to disturb him and his cost of care kept going up.
Auntie Mama spoke on Empire Fm and said God would immensely bless the former leader.
“ May God bless him [John Mahama]. Since he got to know Jewel Ackah and they became friends, he supported him financially by sending him Ghc 2,000 every month and even when Jewel was admitted at 37 Military hospital he came over to visit him on several occasions followed by a Ghc 10,000 donation when he was discharged” she revealed.
Ackah, 73, died last Friday after battling debilitating illnesses for several years now.
