Veteran highlife star Rex Omar has announced plans to sue Zylofon Media for $1m in damages, claiming the company has used his intellectual property without gaining the proper permission from him.
Omar, in an interview with Neat Fm, disclosed that the company is flush with cash therefore if they have violated his rights he is going to court to get paid for it.
The President of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) said every song of his Zylofon has used without permission is valued at $1m by him.
“My lawyers have written to them, so you would hear the details at the right time because they have money”. he said.
“They have taken my song and that is my property. As for me, my music is my property and I value every song I produce at 1million dollars. So if you take my music and you don’t tell me, you have stolen my on million dollar”, he added.

Rex Omar revealed that he has a similar case against Joy Dadi in court after they used his song for an advert without his permission.
