Moesha Boduong has single-handedly gotten the entire population to discuss topics that we normally prefer to sweep under the carpet. From the issue of landlords demanding two years rent in advance to the phenomenon of “mistressism” and the hardships women especially go through to survive the harsh Ghanaian economy. In the documentary Sex and Love Around The World by CNN’s Christiane Amanpour which everyone has probably watched and re-watched by now, Moesha gets down and dirty about sex and love, revealing things we already know but would rather not talk about.
However, one thing she mentioned that most people weren’t aware of prior to the interview was that she is a brand ambassador. Brand ambassador for what? Vaginal tightening creams. Very fitting. As usual, instead of speaking for herself, she claimed that most Ghanaian women use these creams to make their pu$$y tighter in an attempt to increase the pleasure for their men. Of course, as a brand ambassador she is in the best position to know how popular these things are on the market, and according to her, they sell like hot cake!
“In Ghana, we like to please the men first that is why we use all these things to just make them enjoy the sex; we please our men before we think about ourselves”, Moesha disclosed to a totally bewildered Amanpour. Meanwhile, a gynaecologist has adviced women to desist from using such creams since they only cause more harm than good.
Dr. Titus Beyou, a gynaecologist speaking to Kwame Tutu on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm explained that claims that such creams and pills were effective in tightening the walls of the vagina were completely false and rather these products cause infections and have serious health implications on the women who use them. The vagina as it is known is a self-cleaning organ and all that one requires to wash it is plain water and nothing else.
According to him, the majority of yeast infections reported at the hospital were as a result of the use of these tightening creams and products. He stated that not only did these harmful products cause infections, they also cause infertility as well. ‘’You only need water and not creams or drugs. The use of such creams will only cause infertility and infections in women,’’ he warned.
