Patapaa had a pretty horrible night Saturday at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Not only was he unable to win the Most Popular Song of the Year award as he had hoped but he was also relentlessly roasted on social media for his now legendary blue Swedru suit.
However, one person defending Patapaa over the constant attacks on him is Ghanaian actor/producer Ricky Allotey.
The producer, in a post on social media, has slammed Ghanaians for making fun of Patapaa when he was doing nothing but simply living within his means.
Ricky said Ghanaians would never help someone trying to hustle but are always ready to laugh at you when you fail.
“It’s amazing how people are unwilling to help you but will laugh at you once you fail.” he posted on Facebook.
“Shame on everyone who ridiculed PATAPAA after the VGMA because he’s living within his means. I’m meeting his manager & I’m going to shoot a music video for him. FOR FREE,” he added.
Popularly known as Bra Ricky, Allotey is a Ghanaian Film Producer, Actor & creative director at RAN AFRIQUE Productions.
His recent work was on the BBC/NETFLIX original series ‘The Forgiven Earth’ produced by Ealing Studios UK and directed by Hugo Blick, which is set to be released worldwide the summer of 2018. He serves as Head of media relations for Black Star International Film Festival and is known for his contributions in films such as ‘Hooked’ and ‘My Father My Mother’.
