Finally someone diagnoses the real problem with Shatta Wale. The self proclaimed dancehall king, popularly known as ‘Gbee Naabu’, is inflicted with what a friend of mine describes as ‘poverty mentality’.
Because he’s been poor for so long and is now enjoying wealth, he tends to think he’s enjoying what no one else has enjoyed before and he keeps using it as a weapon whenever he gets into a ‘spat’ with a rival.
He has dissed Samini as poor before, as well as Stonebwoy and even legends like Obrafour and Tic.
Veteran dancehall act Samini, who started off around the same time as ‘Bandana’ but who has been a constant presence in the industry and didn’t disappear for a decade, has taken more jabs at ‘Gbee Naabu’.
According to him, Shatta Wale keeps referring to him and others as poor because he only recently started chopping huge money, but someone like him has been chopping for close to two decades now.
“Action speaks louder than words and that has been my brand so if you are sitting somewhere and you worry about me so much that you want to tell people my financial status actually as part of things you sit and worry about, that tells me that even the small money that you’ve gotten, you are wondering if that’s ever going to make you like me.” Samini jabbed Wale.
“That’s how I feel because before you got any money at all, you know we’ve been spending money and you’ve been saying it that we were the ones getting the money…..all of a sudden, you came, you saw, you got some, so if you’re going to call somebody that has been collecting money from 2001 and still collecting in 2018 a poor guy, that’s your opinion”, he added.
Samini added that all Shatta does is show off his wealth to prove to people that he’s not suffering poverty anymore, but he said if someone else doesn’t believe in that, it doesn’t make them poor.
