Former Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has cancelled his contract with the club to start a new adventure in the United States of America.
Zlatan, 36, joins the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.
The club announced their latest acquisition Friday by taking out a full page newspaper ad in the Los Angeles Times showing Ibra in a Galaxy jersey.
“Dear Los Angeles, you’re welcome.” the ad reads.
Swedish forward Ibrahimovic is one of the biggest stars in world football and his move to the U.S would shine a huge spotlight on MLS.
In a stellar career spanning numerous countries and titles, Ibrahimovic has played for the best clubs in the world including Barcelona, A.C Milan, Juventus, Ajax Amsterdam, Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and United.
“After being in Europe, winning 33 trophies, playing in the best teams in the world, playing with the best players in the world, I wanted to come to the US and play my game there,” the Swede told the LA Times.
“I wanted people to enjoy my game there and to win. And I chose the Galaxy to do that.”
