Officers of the Ghana Police Service in the Volta Region pulled off a huge bust in a weed operation and even more surprisingly, refused a Ghc 10,000 bribe from the suspects.
You heard right, Ghc 1 loving Ghana police officers turning down Ghc 10,000 from weed traffickers. This is extremely difficult to believe but apparently it happened.
According to mynewsgh, five police officers were transporting prisoners to the Ho Central Prisons Monday when they noticed a Togolese Mercedez Cargo truck come out of the bushes and join the main road near the Ave-Hevi township.
Suspicious, they stopped the truck and searched it to discover numerous stacks of fertilizer sacks which they suspected to be weed.
They then effected the arrests of the truck driver and his mate and took control of the truck which they were driving to the Dzodze Police Station.

However, whilst in transit, another accomplice on a motor bike accosted them and proposed the Ghc 10,000 bribe, paying Ghc 5,000 upfront.
The officer in charge took the money and arrested the additional suspect, reporting back at the police station exactly what happened and turning in the cash.

Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered 89 maxi size sacks of fertilizer, containing roughly 7,120 slabs of illicit marijuana.
