It was Mensa Otabil who said a few weeks ago that if some countries decided to give free visa Ghana would become empty and a truer observation about Ghanaians has never been made.
The EU ambassador to Ghana is calling on Ghanaian migrants to Europe to find dignified employment and not begging in malls for pennies.
Ambassador William Hanna, speaking at a lecture on migration at the University of Ghana passed the damning comments.
“I have a very deep picture in my mind of walking around Rome…and I see Ghanaians begging at supermarkets probably to make some money and I don’t see much dignity in that,” he said.

Hanna added that both African and European authorities must cooperate to tackle the menace of illegal migration as sometimes those desperate to travel are taken advantage of by ruthless criminals who promise them passage.
