Kennedy Agyapong, member of Parliament for Assin central has supported President of the Republic of Ghana Nana Addo over his decision to stay in his own apartment instead of the Flagstaff House which was built purposely to accommodate Ghanaian Presidents.
The President’s decision to stay in his apartment has resulted in the traders around the apartment being forced to move out to ensure massive security for the president.
The MP speaking on Adom Tv disclosed that predecessors of the president did the same so there is no problem when Nana Addo also decides to repeat what they did. He said the opposition was speaking against this move as if they have not seen some before but reminded them to cast their minds back during their days in power, the then president Mahama used two state houses.
“I have no problem if the president has started compensating traders and squatters there,” he continued “The president is a sympathetic person, I know. I personally believe it is not wrong for him to compensate them though I’m very sure that he didn’t initially intend to relocate them but I think it’s about time he takes his security seriously.”

“He has his own private house he wants to live in. You can’t be diabolic about this issue Felix”, he told his co-panellist, NDC’s Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
“Even Mahama was living in two government houses- he was occupying two government properties. Flagstaff House and the other one. Akufo-Addo is using his own private house”, he added.
