Nana Adomako Nyamekye, a Ghanaian highlife musician and an ex-military officer has confessed crimes he was tasked to commit by former President Jerry John Rawlings  to shoot the then President Dr Hilla Limann and his vice Mr Joseph de-Graft Johnson few hours before the coup which brought Flt Lt Jerry John Rawlings to power.
According to Nyamekye, his failure to carry out those orders led him to flee out of the country in fear for his life.
The ex-military officer made this shocking revelation in a program hosted on ANDY D TV “The Hour Show”.
He said: “On the night of 31st December, they (Rawlings’ men) had wanted to task me and my friend to either shoot or arrest Dr Hilla Limann and Vice President Joseph W.S. de-Graft Johnson immediately they stepped on the dancefloor but I refused.”
