NDC activist Dela Coffie is in trouble with the courts as a judge has issued a bench warrant for his arrest, on charges of fraud.
An earlier warrant for his arrest has not been executed as the police have been unable to locate him for a while now.
The vituperative NDC operative is the main suspect in a Ghc 20,000 case of fraud involving a businessman identified as Mike.
Coffie was arrested at the start of the month and granted bail on his own self recognisanze but has since gone missing.
Prosecuting attorney Mabel Atsu told the court that Coffie promised to turn himself in but has so far failed to do so.
“He (Dela) promised to make the money available to be given to the complainant, but he gave some four weeks, and he is not even complying with the bail condition(s).
“My Lord, I should have called this case yesterday, but deliberately deferred to today just to allow the accused (Dela) redeem himself, but has since avoided my calls my lord,”
Upon the testimony, the presiding judge granted another bench warrant for Coffie’s arrest.
