The founder of International Central Gospel Church, Pastor Mensah Otabil, at the 34th-anniversary service of the church (ICGC), wondered why Ghanaians are still stuck to their old ways and are not willing to bring something new, especially in the fufu pounding process.
He said, ” I don’t know why an African past, I want an African future. I don’t want to imitate what Yaa Asantewaa did, I want to create something new for myself and my generation. So, if at this time we are still pounding the same way Yaa Asantewa pounded it – I grant you your right to eat your fufu, no matter the calories, but should you prepare the same it was prepared by your ancestors? Cant, you do it differently? Can’t we look at our lives and say we are going to create something new.”
The above statement made by the motivational speaker could be true in some aspect but, coincidentally, there is a new machine for pounding fufu.
