World famous US evangelical preacher Billy Graham has died.
The preacher’s family announced his passing via a statement released Wednesday, February 21st.
He was 99.
Dubbed ‘America’s Pastor’ throughout his career, Graham is widely considered the most prominent evangelist of the 20th century, and was one of the first breed of televangelists.
He founded the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, and was also known for hosting the annual Billy Graham Crusades.
He hosted numerous radio and television talk programs throughout the years, and finally retired in 2005, at the age of 86.
Graham is survived by five kids, all of whom have entered into ministry. Franklin, the eldest, now heads the Billy Graham Evangelical Associations.
