The driver who was at the helm of the Jeep which crashed and led to the death of dancehall artist Ebony Reigns and two others was the only one who survived the crash, and now he could be paying for that.
According to multiple reports, the Ghana Police Service are considering charging him with ‘careless and inconsiderate driving’ for his role in the fatal accident.
Pinehad Oko Chartey, 29, was the driver of the Jeep which veered off the road whilst they were returning from Sunyani to Accra.
According to reports, in his attempt to dodge a heap of sand in the middle of the road, he rammed a VIP bus and lost control of the car which ran into the railings near the road.
Three of the car’s occupants, Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng, Francis Atsu Vondee and Franky Kuri all lost their lives, whilst Chartey survived and was sent to hospital.
A police radio message intercepted by the Today newspaper reveals that Chartey is currently being held on police enquiry bail and once fit, would be charged with ‘careless and inconsiderate driving.’
