27-year-old Black Stars player, Daniel Opare, who joined German side FC Augsburg in 2o15 has been fired from the club for holding secret transfer possibility meetings with a suitor in a bid to likely leave his present club.
This act violates the rules of the club and even when FC Augsburg got a wind of Opare’s personal meetings with his suitors with evidence to the claim, the defender denied it countless times leading to his contract being terminated.
The versatile fullback has been capped17 times for the Bundesliga side this season which has been his highest appearance for the club against his last three seasons.
Via Citi Sports:
“FC Augsburg stands for values such as down-to-earthness, teamwork, reliability and honesty. Most recently, Daniel Opare has repeatedly violated these values. For this reason, the FCA has withdrawn its offer of a contract extension of expiring at the end of the season contract. In addition, the FCA has informed the 27-year-old in a personal conversation that he can look for a new club at short notice.
“Daniel Opare has repeatedly lied to us despite the confrontation with facts. Furthermore, he has repeatedly violated the Code of Conduct within the team, said Stefan Reuter, Sports Director of FC Augsburg.
