Controversial politician and business tycoon, Kennedy Agyapong have hinted that Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia collapsed at the Flagstaff before being rushed to the hospital.
According to Kennedy Agyapong, he was not aware of the Vice President’s situation until he was alerted by Yoofi Grant, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).
Reports by the Herald newspaper indicated that Kennedy Agyapong who was in London to attend a memorial service of Joseph Ayi Ankrah was prevented from seeing the vice president when he attempted to see him at the hospital.
Kennedy Agyapong debunked the report by the newspaper and said that he went to London for shopping and he did not even visit the hospital where Dr Bawumia was admitted as it was reported by the newspaper.

Kennedy Agyapong responding to the question of why he travelled while the vice president was sick said:
“I didn’t even know number two [Dr. Bawumia] was sick. I was at Landmark Hotel and decided to step down for my breakfast. Then I saw someone wave at me. It was Yofi Grant.
He was the only one seated so I went and sat beside him. Then he said there was something wrong with number two so I asked what it was.

He told me he had collapsed. Those were the words he used. That he collapsed and he had to be rushed here so I asked how we could get information about his condition”.
