Our sh*tholeness is so legendary that we now have foreign ambassadors calling it out on twitter. Oh Ghana!
The Australian High Commisioner to Ghana has described on twitter the filth surrounding the road leading to their embassy and is calling on local authorities to get to work on it.
Andrew Barnes took photos of the deplorable sight near the embassy which he posted on twitter.
“The scene this morning in the street near our High Commission: encourage the local authorities to step up their effort to meet the President’s @flagstaffghana promise to make #Accra the cleanest city in #Africa by 2020. #sanitation” he wrote.
That Accra is a filthy city is no surprise to anyone since people die here every year from diseases like Cholera. A call for the filth to be cleaned up is as futile as a call to address this city’s perennial flooding.
