Speaker of Parliament Professor Mike Ocquaye would be sworn in as acting President on Sunday afternoon after the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, leaves for a trip to Liberia.
The absence of the President would coincide with that of his Vice, who has flown to London on medical leave after he fell ill early yesterday (Friday).
In line with the constitution, the Speaker would be sworn in to fill the position whilst the two principals are out of town.
First Deputy Speaker Joe Osei Owusu has thus called MPs back from their recess to convene on Sunday for the swearing in ceremony of Professor Ocquaye.
He would serve in the role until the President returns from his trip.
