Menaye Donkor, whose company MALZ Productions owns the franchise for Miss Universe Ghana, has stated that raising of funds for Beauty Queen winners’ projects for beauty pageants is the responsibility of organisers and not the winners.
Donkor’s message comes a few weeks after some 4 former Beauty Queens of the Miss Ghana Beauty pageant accused Inna Patty and her company Exclusive Events Ghana for exploitation, requiring them to raise huge sums of money, “pimping” and funds embezzlement.Speaking on 3FM’s Urban Blend on Friday, Menaye Donkor who won Miss Universe Ghana 2004, admitted that there’s a general difficulty in raising sponsorship in Ghana.

“[But] raising funds is the responsibility of the organizers and not that of the beauty queens,” the wife of Italy-based footballer Sulley Ali Muntari said.
She also agreed with the suggestion that the Miss Ghana pageant should be a public-private partnership.
“I think it will work much better,” she said.
