The Vice President of the Republic, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, fell sick Friday morning and has been placed under medical observation.
The Veep reported feeling unwell in the early hours of today and had to see doctors to treat him.
No details of what exactly happened have been released but the Presidency have issued a statement on the matter, indicating it is not simply a minor issue.
The short statement, posted on the official website of the Presidency, read:
“The Vice President of the Republic, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the early hours of Friday, 19th January, 2018, reported feeling unwell. He was attended to by his doctors, and is currently undergoing medical tests and observation. Any further information will be duly communicated.”
It was signed by Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin.
