Honourable Kennedy Agyepong, the member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, has debunked media reports that he promised five Ghanaian veteran musicians Ghc 5,000 each every month for the rest of their lives.
According to the NPP firebrand, he promised Ghc 5,000 to be given to the musicians to share but the media somehow twisted it to mean he said he was giving out that amount to each of them.
Media reports after the recent MUSIGA grand ball said the wealthy MP had promised the sum of money to the MUSIGA President to be handed out to A.B. Crentsil, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Jewel Ackah, Obuoba J.A. Adofo and C.K. Mann each month — essentially putting them on a salary of Ghc 5,000 each until their deaths.
Speaking on Adom TV Tuesday, Agyepong said he promised them all Ghc 5,000 and his first cheque is ready for pick up by Obour.

“I think there was a miscommunication somewhere. I met Obour at Flagstaff House last night and told him my GH¢ 5,000 cedis is ready but the issue is that I never promised to give each of them GH¢ 5,000 but rather, I said I will give the 5 musicians GH¢ 5,000”. he corrected.
So essentially, the veterans would each receive Ghc 1,000 as a monthly salary from Agyepong and not Ghc 5,000.
