Becoming a veteran anything in Ghana seems to be the surest route to poverty. Many stars whether in music, sports or any other field seem to lose everything after they retire and have nothing to survive on.
We have heard this story over and over again and sometimes philanthropic individuals or organizations have to step in to help these individuals.
Actor Kwaku Manu recently said there remains many of such veterans in the system who are broke and have nothing to survive on.
Speaking on Hitz Fm, the Kumawood star said many of such stars contacted him during the festivities looking for sums of money as low as Ghc 50 to buy chicken for their families.
Kwaku Manu made the revelation whilst making a larger point about hardships in Ghana.
“I’m not an MP or president but I’ve pople who call me 24/7 demanding for money. I received calls from veteran musicians and actors requesting for Gh50 just to buy chicken for their family. There are people who cannot even afford chicken for their family are still in this country which is sad”
