These two political enemies have landed on the same side on an issue for the first time in a while – staunch opposition to the tv licence fee.
Kwame Baffoe, the notorious NPP executive known as Abronye DC, has defiantly come out against the proposed levy to be collected by GBC.
According to him, the levy is a senseless one and he would rather go to jail than pay it and he believes most Ghanaians hold the same position.
“This TV license is just a waste of time and resources. We won’t pay and no Ghanaian should pay it. If not paying TV license will take you to jail, why not, we are free to go” he said on Okay FM.
Abronye’s comments echo the massive opposition Ghanaians have to the levy, mostly due to the fact that the money would go to GBC whose track record is nothing to write home about.
Those who have opposed it include Kwame A Plus, who espoused the same sentiment as Abronye a few weeks ago.
Recently, government announced the setting up of special courts to deal with defaulters of the licence fee.
