Speaker of Parliament, Mike Ocquaye.

The NPP have taken their time but they have also started having their scandals one by one, making you wonder if there’s any hope for the future of this country?
Recently, reports surfaced that people had to pay Ghc 100,000 just to have a seat close to the President at a function, and now we’re learning of a Ministry which has requisitioned Ghc 800,000 for the development of a website.
That has got to be one hell of a site.
The Ministry of Special Initiatives recently presented its budget to Parliament for approval, and the figures which made it into the final budget can be said to be patently ridiculous.
The budget contained Ghc 800,000 for the development of the new website, Ghc 2m for budget preparation and Ghc 400,000 for development and management of database.
The total budget for the ministry comes to Ghc 71m.
The Ministry was one of the new ones brought into existence by President Akufo-Addo after winning power, and is currently headed by Mavis Hawa Koomson, MP for Awutu Senya East.
