Ghanaian singing duo Wutah recently had to deal with allegations they stole their massive hit single ‘Bronya’.
Zenabu, an underground artist whose career never really took off, recently claimed that the group stole the song from her.
Speaking with Bernard Avle on the Citi Breakfast show Thursday, the group denied stealing Zenabu’s song. Instead, they said they sampled the song of a legendary Ghanaian act, Safohene Gyeni.

“We know we always tap from the old. The secret behind this song is that we took we took melodies of Safohene Gyeni’s ‘Nea Ye Boe’. So highlife melodies are embedded here,” Afriyie revealed.
The song, the group said, is an old single they recorded even before they broke up.
