The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has been presented with a honorary doctorate degree by the University of Liberia.
President Akufo-Addo’s award was conferred yesterday, Wednesday December 13th, at the school’s commencement exercise.
A lifelong lawyer, the President received a Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree Honoris Causa in International Law from the University.
The award is “in recognition of your substantive contribution to strengthening the Rule of Law in Ghana, and also in recognition of your substantive contributions in Liberia’s peace building process, coupled with your invaluable service to the Ghana State over the years, as a veritable patriot.” University President Professor Ophelia Weeks told Nana Akufo-Addo.

“I am honoured by the award of the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, and assure you that I will do my best not to disgrace the award.” the President said upon receipt of the honour.
