The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has confessed that he’s a member of the order of Freemasons in Ghana and says he’s proud of the association.
The Asantehene was speaking at the recent launch of a new book about the society, written by Brother Gyesie, the Honorary Senior Grand Warden of the Freemason Society of Ghana.
Former President Kuffour and Otumfuo are two of the most prominent freemasons in Ghana and both spoke at the launch.
“I am a proud Freemason and I confirm that the principles and tenets of Freemasonry that we are taught in the Lodge, especially in the areas of governance and accountability have always stood me in good stead in my daily functions as Asantehene,” Otumfuo revealed.
“I recommend this book to every Freemason and to members of the general public”. he added.
The new book is titled — “The Freemasons; who we are; what we stand for and do; our relevance – An insider’s view”.
