Ghanaians are now divided following the comments made by President Nana Akufo Addo on whether homosexuality should be legalized in Ghana or not. A lot of bigwigs have shared their opinions on the subject with some standing strongly against it.
One of the bigwigs who has strongly come out to stand against the act is the speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye. He has insisted that Ghana will not bow down to the liberalization of the world by legalizing homosexuality as part of its culture.
The speaker of Parliament made this known on Monday, November 27, 2017, at a symposium organised by the Danquah Institute to look deep into the role of women in nation building.
Rt. Honorable Professor Aaron Michael Oquaye indicated that same-sex marriage is abomination since the culture, religion and traditions of the Ghanaian setup frown on it.
He continued to say that, Parliament will try its best to throw out any bill concerning the legalization of homosexuality from the government when it is presented before the august house.
The debate as to whether homosexuality should be legalized or banned in Ghana is the trending news across all media outlets.
