The Vice President of IMANI Ghana, Kofi Bentil, has called on Ghanaians to worry more about the pressing issues facing the country than legalization of homos*xuality.
Writing on social media, Bentil listed a litany of issues facing Ghanaians and said those should be more of more pressing need to us than what two grown up men decide to do in the secrecy of their own room.
The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, sparked a firestorm with comments he passed during an interview with Al Jazeera surrounding the issue of gay rights.
The President said that currently it’s not an issue on the forefront of the minds of Ghanaians, but left open the possibility that it could be legalized in the future if there’s sufficient activism for it.
That has angered a lot of people, on social media, in the clergy and across the political divide.
However, speaking on the issue, Bentil said if any Ghanaian is worried about gays instead of the myriad of issues facing the nation, there must be something very wrong with them.
