President Emmerson Mnangagwa

Mugabe’s nearly 40 years rule of Zimbabwe has officially ended and for the first time in 37 years, Zimbabweans have a new President by name Emmerson Mnangagwa who has officially been sworn into office at Country’s National Sports Stadium in Harare with thousands present at the Ceremony.
President Mnangagwa has been a right-hand man to Mugabe and rose to be his Vice President until he was sacked by the Former President some months ago.

Mugabe’s forced exit came reluctantly after he submitted a resignation letter to Parliament after a back and forth political turmoil when the Military seized power and demanded his step down for reasons of him supervising Zimbabwe’s poor economic status sending the South African country almost into collapse amidst creating a Political Tension.
President Mnangagwa nicknamed the Crocodile has sworn an oath of office to serve as interim President until the next Zimbabwe general elections which he is expected to contest as the Flagbearer of Mugabe’s Zanu PF.

Taking his oath at the ceremony graced with African leaders and other dignitaries, he said
“I, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, swear that as president of the Republic of Zimbabwe I will be faithful to Zimbabwe and obey, uphold and defend the constitution and all other laws of Zimbabwe,”.
Mugabe and his wife, Grace, were, however, missing at the august occasion. However, leader of the main opposition MDC-T, Morgan Tsvangiriai attended the historic ceremony.
