Former Black Stars striker Anthony Yeboah has debunked rumours floating around social media that he has passed away.
Speaking to Kasapa Fm, Yeboah put the rumours completely to bed, telling his interviewer that “I am alive,”
It’s almost a tradition for fake news of the deaths of prominent people to float around and Yeboah was the latest victim with a US based site reporting his death.
Speaking to Kasapa, Yeboah expressed disappointment at those kinds of news and said social media should not be used for such nefarious purposes.
“Those people behind these stories must stop this, it is not just me that they have done this to. Recently they did the same to Abedi Pele which is not nice. You don’t have to use social media for such vices. I am not even sick so when I heard it, I was so surprised. My aunt saw it on social media and told me about. I want to assure all those who have been worried by the news that it is not true. I am alive”. he said.
The reports of Yeboah’s death spread like wildfire on social media Monday, with story claiming he had died after suffering multiple seizures.
