Artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, aka Bulldog, has hit out at Ghanaians for being enslaved to anything foreign and never supporting anything that comes from our own.
Bulldog’s comments come in the wake of the visit of the stars of Indian soap Kumkum Bhagya to Ghana and the sort of reception given to them by fans of the show.
According to Bulldog, Ghanaians love everything foreign and have disdain for local products.
“Ghanaians copy in everything they do, they never appreciate what they have,” he said.
Bulldog pointed to the issue of telenovelas, which he said was first brought by GTV and then everyone jumped on board, now taking it to the extreme by even translating them into twi to the detriment of the local industry.
“In Ghana almost all the television stations are showing lots of telenovelas, we don’t appreciate what we have”. he bitterly added.
Bulldog is one of the biggest voices when it comes to calling for support for everything local, even recently firmly taking Shatta Wale’s side in his feud with Wizkid.
