Parliament Passes Bill To Set Up Fund To Provide For Major Mahama's Family

Barbara Mahama

Parliament has passed the bill set up to authorize the disbursement of funds into the Trust Fund set up to cater for the family of the late Major Maxwell Mahama.
The Major Mahama Trust Fund Bill passed the august chamber today, Thursday November 9 2017.
The bill, which would become law once it is signed by the President, would formalize the establishment of the fund meant exclusively to cater for Barbara Mahama and her children.
The late soldier, Maxwell Mahama, was killed in Denkyira-Obuasi earlier this year after he was lynched by a mob. In the aftermath, government promised the establishment of a fund with Ghc 500,000 seed money to take care of his family.
The passage of the bill moves that one step closer, with a board of Trustees to be set up to look over the disbursement of the funds.
