The conqueror of Ghana’s most brash sportsman Bukom Banku, Bastie Samir, has added his voice to calls for weed to be legalized in Ghana.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 Fm, Samir said if Ghanaians are clamouring for the substance to be legalized then it should be.
“If Ghanaians want ‘wee’ to be legalized, why not? It should be legalised for them. If the legalisation will not disturb the country why not? It can be considered.” Samir said.
The former Black Bombers star, who felled Banku in the 7th round of their bout last week, also dismissed allegations that he takes weed himself and that it is what gives him the strength to box.
“I give praise and thanks to God for the victory against Bukom Banku. With God’s help I will continue with my profession and win more fights.” he said.
“I worked hard for this fight and fulfilled the promises I made to my fans and, so, I was very happy with the outcome.
“I have seen ‘weed’ before but I have never smoked weed. I am very much disciplined because I am a sportsman, I cannot do certain things that will weaken me,” Samir concluded.
