We never thought we’d live to see the day, but it’s here – General Mosquito is ready to become President of Ghana.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), says he is ever ready to lead the party as flagbearer in the next election and contest for the Presidency.
General Mosquito, as he’s more commonly known, as been the NDC’s chief scribe for the past 12 years, masterminding their return to power in 2008 after 8 years in the political wilderness.
With their loss in the last elections, the search is on for the next leader of the party and Nketia has thrown his hat into the ring.
“I am ready to lead the NDC in the 2020 general elections. Who will not be happy when called upon to be the President of Ghana?” he said, speaking with KSM.
Asiedu Nketia went on to recount his resume, which includes political work all the way back to the 70s. He represented Wenchi at the consultative assembly to draft the 1992 constitution, before serving as a three term MP and three term General Secretary for the NDC.
According to Nketia, he therefore feels he’s now ready to get to the next stage and contest for President of Ghana.
