Rev. Owusu Mensah Is Accusing Evangelist Diana Asamoah Of Stealing His Song

Diana Asamoah

The battle of whose song is this and who was not due their earned credit has sprung up and this time it is at the end of two Kumasi gospel artistes.
Rev.George Owusu Mensah, Senior Pastor at the St. James Baptist Church in Kumasi is putting it to Evangelist Diana Asamoah that she stole his song titled ‘Agya ma wo nsa so’.
The Reverend disclosed this in an interview with Ultimate Inspiration and Gospel Chat hosted by Winfred Daniel Nii Adjaye.
He said after helping Diana Asamoah re-arrange the song and all that, she came back to say the song is already a popular song and that means he did not write the song as claimed hence she cannot pay him.
“After helping her to re-arrange the song, she recorded the song but came back only to say the song was in the public domain and that there was no point showing gratitude or giving credit to me the composer.
“She said one pastor told her that the song was a public domain, in other words, I didn’t write the song, and that I told her a lie, maybe a thief as well.
“I didn’t feel insulted by her comment. It didn’t break me down. She told me she has paid artistes like Prof. Kofi Abraham but she cannot pay mine, she’s comfortable like that.”
The Reverend also disclosed that gospel artiste like Akwasi Nyarko has used his songs without crediting him.
We are yet to hear from either of them.
