A Ugandan MP has been dragged before court after he was photographed peeing in public.
He did not piss just on any decrepit building too, but on the wall of the country’s Ministry of Finance building.
Ibrahim Abiriga, Member of Parliament for Arua Municipality, is to appear before City Hall Court to answer to the charges of public nuisance.
The MP’s troubles started after a photo surfaced on social media showing him pissing on the ministry’s wall. He was severely criticized by citizens for his actions and there were calls for him to be punished.
That led to him being arraigned before court to answer charges.
The MP has admitted his act but has not shown any remorse.
“I was badly off. Should I have kept urine on myself? What is the problem with that?” he told Ugandan media.
If convicted, the MP faces a 40,000 Kenyan shillings fine, two months in prison, or both.
