In a few hours thousands upon thousands of Ghanaians would descend on the website of the US State Department and start planning an escape from hell.
That’s because the U.S Government’s Diversity Visa Lottery Program kicks off, precisely at 16:00 GMT.
The Visa Lottery, as it’s generally called, is a program through which the United States hands out entry visas to applicants from all across the globe, with just a few countries exempt.
Donald Trump is closing down many routes for immigrants but at least the Visa Lottery still operates.
Last year, over one million Ghanaians applied, and the number could conceivably go higher this year.
Out of the number, 2,500 have been selected and would eventually get the chance to enter the United States.
