They are living representations of the simple fact that being an artist in Ghana is whack due to lack of proper structures in place to generate revenue, and Reggie and Bollie are speaking out about it.
Two quite average artists left Ghana to relocate and are now shocking the U.K.
Reggie and Bollie have been talking about the lack of a proper industry in Ghana and how it prevents musicians from getting the money they deserve from their hard work.
“[The industry] is killing talents in Ghana. Think about artistes who have relocated. The industry must get to the level where they don’t have to travel for revenue to make music” Reggie said.
The UK based duo said we must grow our industry to a level where the success of a song, whether on radio or on the charts, will actually generate revenue for the artist involved.
“I think it’s time our industry elevates to the next level where when a song is top 40 or number one, there are lots of revenue coming in; artistes will not fight with their managers.
“You don’t have to be the hottest artiste to see millions. You come here [Ghana] and the hottest artistes don’t receive the required income and go down the drain. Our industry must get to a level where money comes from every angle…” Reggie added.
