Arya Stark is without question one of the most popular characters in Game of Thrones, with fans across the world admiring her for her unrelenting bravery.
Anyone who watches Thrones knows that Arya never gives up no matter the challenges facing her, and for many mothers those are qualities they would love their children to have.
Thus there has been an uptick in the number of people in England and Wales naming their daughters after the youngest Stark daughter.
According to the BBC, more than 300 girls born in the two countries last year were named Arya. More people were named Arya than ‘Mary’ or ‘Catherine’, which normally rank higher in the naming of girls in the Kingdom.
Other names from the HBO series, one of the most popular and most successful tv shows of all time, which were given out as baby names include Khaleesi, Tyrion, Sansa, Daenerys and Brienne.
