I Won't Allow My Children To Be Part Of Akufo-Addo's Free SHS – Former Minister

Former deputy minister of Central Region, Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has said he won’t allow his children to be part of Nana Akufo Addo’s free senior high school policy because he is not sure of the quality of service.
Speaking on Agoo TV, the former member of parliament for Mfantsiman West said he feared the quality of teaching as it is a very new policy. He revealed that one of his sons got admission to Achimota SHS but because he couldn’t guarantee the quality of service with free shs, he made his son join Akosombo International School instead.
“I am not guaranteed of the quality of the teaching under the free SHS, so I will not allow my children to be part of it. One of them gained admission to Achimota but I have asked that he attends Akosombo International School where I am guaranteed of quality,” he said.
“When I know I am paying fees, I will demand accountability but when I am not it is difficult. I am actually not averse to the implementation but the mode in which it is being implemented is the problem. My ward passed, got admission at Achimota but I decided he should go to Akosombo International School.”
