Kenya has made history today as its Supreme Court has annulled the results of the recently held Presidential elections and called for new polls to be held.
In the landmark ruling, the Court held up the arguments of the opposition that the election was tampered with and the will of the people changed.
A new elections has to be held within 60 days, the court ruled.
Uhuru Kenyatta won the widely contested elections held last month, securing another term in office. However, the opposition led by Raila Odinga cried foul, claiming the electoral commission was hacked and the results manipulated.
The opposition filed an election petition case, similar to what happened in Ghana in 2012. This time however, the opposition won, and there would be a new election in at most two months time.
