The Ghana Education Service have announced the placement of students who wrote this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into numerous Senior High Schools across the country.
A statement released by the Service and dated 31st August, 2017, reveals that 92% of students who took the exams qualified to be placed into SHS across the country.
Thus out of the 460,941 students who wrote the exam, 424,092 received placement, representing 92% of all candidates. 36,849 failed to get any placement due to their inability to pass either Mathematics or English language.
With government implementing the Free SHS policy from this year, an impressive 92% of all candidates have the chance to enter Senior High on government’s dime.
The statement further added that school re-opens on September 11 and all fresh students are expected to report to school on that day.
