Uganda has done Ghana a huge favour after they beat Egypt by a lone goal in a heated 2018 World Cup Group E qualifier in Kampala.
Emmanuel Okwi scored the only goal of the game in the second half to hand Egypt her first loss in qualifying and send The Cranes top of the group.
Egypt won their first two games – including a thorough 2-0 win over Ghana in Alexandria – to open a five points gap over Ghana in the group.
However, Uganda’s win today keep the Pharaoh’s within touching distance of Ghana – provided the Stars win tomorrow’s qualifier in Kumasi against Congo.
Uganda now lead the Group on 7pts, followed by Egypt on 6pts and Ghana on 1pt
