Reports reaching GhanaCelebrities.com has it that Deputy Agric Minister, Agyapong Quaitoo has resigned from his post. He resigned after intense pressure following his unfortunate tribal comment.
Mr. Quaitoo has been widely slammed following an interview with Starr FM where he tagged Northerners as “difficult” people.
Despite a quick apology from him, the member of parliament for Oda, many Northerners said an apology was not enough.
According to Joy FM’s Elton Brobbey, the president received a resignation letter from Mr. Quaitoo this evening.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, this evening accepted the resignation from office of the Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Hon. William Quaitoo, MP, which takes immediate effect. The President wished him the very best in his future endeavours,” he said.
